“I was struggling quite heavily with issues of imposter syndrome, self-esteem, and fear of rejection that I wasn’t genuinely addressing or trying to “power through” and, unbeknownst to myself, that had been manifesting in my creative career in ways I believed to be unrelated. I had, for all intents and purposes, stagnated creatively and professionally. I was maintaining a healthy load of work but it never felt very satisfying and it felt like I had been running on a treadmill in terms of the level of work and opportunities coming my way. I wanted to grow more, do more, be more. I was honestly skeptical joining the group for a myriad of reasons, but I listened to whatever was pulling me to sign up and take the leap and it helped me a tremendous amount. In the six months, I failed at achieving my goal of finishing one specific screenplay I’d been afraid to tackle for a while – instead I found new representation that has opened up tons of new doors for me, I’m pitching to studios on some incredible opportunities, I’m prepping to be staffed on my first network show, I’ve booked multiple writing assignments and had to turn down work for the first time, I’ve made huge progress on a novel which I wasn’t even considering, and I finished multiple new screenplays. That one I was afraid of? I’ve started that as well. The gains are hard to ignore and I know that a huge part of that growth has come from the skills – both internal and external – as well as the support I received by participating in the group.”

As soon as I heard that Sascha was putting together a transformative experience for Hollywood professionals, I knew it was for me. I’d spent about a decade pursuing + building a career as a writer, actor, director, and creator of my own work. I’ve always been someone with a great measure of self-belief and tenacity, but before the Inspired Hollywood Group, my belief and tenacity were equally matched by a deep-rooted fear that “it just wasn’t going to happen for me.” Furthermore, this fear of not making it was bolstered by comparing myself to others constantly and being rocked by every rejection along the way. One of the first transformations I experienced was a total mindset shift around how qualified for my dreams I actually am. I’m talented, trained, I’ve put in a decade of work at this — why would it be so audacious for me to simply succeed? And, of course, an incredible wave of external success followed this internal shift. During the course of the group, I attached an executive producer + production company to my pilot (the production company signed on immediately in the pitch zoom!), moved into financing and pre-production for my first feature, developed another pilot with a very reputable production company, took manager meetings, and shot a short film that I wrote, starred in, and directed, which also won the Panavision New Filmmaker Grant. The internal shifts were just as great, if not greater, because they’ll be with me for the duration of my career.

I now know, deeply, how valuable my talents are to Hollywood, and how available success is to me. The Inspired Hollywood Group is one of a kind — a magical, soulful, deep, exciting, connective springboard into what’s possible.
